The problem statements /themes cross multiple industries, and are designed to be quite broad in scope. Get creative and start brainstorming!
Not sure what problem statement / theme to go for? That's ok - you can create a team and select a theme when the event kicks off.

Q. How do I participate?
To participate in the Hackathon, navigate to the Hackathon homepage and click the “Register” button. Once registered, you are considered a participant of the event where you can:

Q. What do I "hack" and how is it judged?
The goal of this event is to work on something that otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to be explored before.
Think of the one thing you really wanted to do, but your day-to-day duties have gotten in the way. This Hackathon is the perfect time to get it done!
To ensure your hack will bring value, first, observe at what your department is struggling with, but hasn’t had the time to solve. If nothing comes to mind, look elsewhere within your company for any known pain points. Also, try to take in the perspective of one of your customers - do they have something you are certain they are struggling with?
You are more than welcome to work on something unrelated and spontaneous, but know that judging will be looking projects that are not only creative, but also that will create significant impact. See the judging criteria for more details.
Q. How much time would I need to devote to the event?
This is up to you. Start with 1 hour a day, and you can do more as needed . The more time you and your team spends, the more opportunity it has to improve the round deliverables.
