QuantumBlack is an advanced analytics firm operating at the intersection of strategy, technology and design to improve performance outcomes for organisations. In 2015we became part of McKinsey & Company. Together we combine our advanced analytics, design and engineering expertise with McKinsey’s industry knowledge and organisational change management experience.

In January 2017, QuantumBlack opened their India operations as part of McKinsey Knowledge Centre in Gurgaon. It serves as a global capability centre and has been involved serving client across different geographies and business domains on their analytical transformation journey.

A concerning statistic was shared during recent ‘Diversity of Perspective’ talkat the Royal Institution of Great Britain. In 1984, 37% of computer science majors in the US were women; by 2014 the same statistic was just 18%. Women appear to have opted out of the tech revolution to a large degree, thereby missing out on increasingly significant financial and social benefits.

At QuantumBlack we have been debating our role in addressing this critical issue. As a starting point, we believe it is important to put our own house in order by achieving gender parity across all roles and at all levels of seniority. We launched our efforts with our first event designed to inspire and connect women tech professionals last November (for more information click here). Since then we have been working hard in a number of areas to address the challenge. Inspired by the theme for International Women’s Day 2019, we have named our campaign #QBalance. We believe that diverse teams perform better and this is validated byresearch across 1,000 companies and 12 countries, that shows that organisations with gender diverse leadership teams how outperform others by over 20%, in terms of financial performance.
