Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Practice Development

  • Responsible for leading and developing the capabilities of BLEND360’s Data Science practice
  • Work with Global Data Science Practice Head and clients to understand business problems, industry context, data sources, potential risks, and constraints.
  • Provide best practice advice to customers and team members, Owning the data science processes and tools; survey new developments within the data science space and adapt them within BLEND360.
  • Create an ecosystem that fosters innovation and encourages members of the CoE to build innovative solutions and publish papers/content in public domain.
  • Research and create intellectual property for the company that will benefit BLEND360 and its clients. 

Project Delivery

  • Working closely with the business and the data science team in order to ensure that ML projects are aligned to business needs
  • Works with and directs all resources on requirements and reviewing the quality of work prior to move to production.
  • Responsible and accountable for leading the defining, building, testing, and maintenance of performance reporting infrastructure and data analysis, including the extraction, publication, and communication of reports and dashboards
  • Get the stakeholder feedback, get alignment on approaches, deliverables, and roadmaps.
  • Develop a project plan including milestones, dates, owners, and risks and contingency plans.
  • Working closely with the Engineering team to operationalize and deploy the models.
  • Partner with technology and the business teams to build a superior data quality pipeline that will feed the models.
  • Understand and prioritize the data science work based on cost-effectiveness and leverage time management skills.

People Management

  • Defines roles, responsibilities and establishes direct accountabilities for reporting staff to ensure consistency of operations in data science practice.
  • Executes Performance Management cycle responsibilities (reviews, salaries and incentives). Formulates development plans and roadmaps for new and incumbent staff to help them succeed at their job responsibilities
  • Assists with the development and/or monitoring of workflow, procedures, and metrics to track employee and department productivity, gathers and analyses statistics and makes recommendations for performance improvement


Required Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years Professional experience in Advanced Data Science having deep knowledge of variety of Machine Learning and advanced analytical techniques such as predictive modeling, statistical analysis, machine learning, text mining, geospatial analytics, time series forecasting, optimization and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Experience with one or more Advanced Data Science software languages (R, Python, Scala, SAS) 
  • Must have thorough mathematical knowledge of correlation/causation, decision trees, classification and regression models, recommenders, probability and stochastic processes, distributions, priors and posteriors.
  • Understand the model lifecycle of cleansing/standardizing raw data, feature creation/selection.
  • Writing complex transformation logic to generate independent and dependent variables, model selection, tuning, A/B testing and generating production-ready code.
  • Proven ability to deploy machine learning models from the research environment (Jupyter Notebooks) to production via procedural- or pipeline-approaches
  • Knowledge of Numerical optimization, Linear/Non-linear/Integer programming, Statistics, Combinatorial optimization is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and tuning as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases including Hadoop/Hive.
  • Experience with spark and data-frames in PySpark or Scala.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to pivot complex data to answer business questions.
  • Proven ability to visualize data for influencing.
  • Comfortable with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Optimizely is a plus.
  • Experience in digital marketing a plus
  • Ability to work independently with high energy, enthusiasm and persistence.
  • Must have exposure in handling multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines and can work in a group setting as well as in an independent position.
  • The candidate is expected to have exceptional problem-solving, analytical and organization skills with a detail-oriented attitude 

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, quantitative studies, such as Statistics, Math, Operation Research, Economics and Advanced Analytics
