ASSOCIATE- DATA SCIENCE – L1
JOB SUMMARY
Publicis Sapient is looking for an Associate – Data Science (L1) to join its Data Science practice.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for creating data driven solutions with the help of team leads that at the core are driven by relevant learning algorithms. In this role you will follow the instructions given by data science leads or SME who will be involved in a Team that is solving business problems using machine learning or Deep learning algorithms. You will enjoy working with some of the most diverse data sets in the world, cutting edge technologies, and will see your team’s insights turned into real business results on a regular basis.
The role is critical in helping advance the application of machine learning as a core building block to solve real business problems.
Core areas of focus for this group includes applications in Demand Forecasting, Customer Profiling, Optimization of Operations, Propensity modeling, Risk analysis, and several others delivering true business value to our customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand Business problems and KPIs by holding discussions with relevant customer stakeholders
- Utilizing the right data science approach to solve customer’s Business problems
- Identify the different data sources needed for project execution – including both internal and external data
- Ensure proper DQ checks are done and the data is well understood by the Team
- Document DQ related issues and barriers and take it up with Customer stakeholders
- Generate hypothesis for performing various Exploratory analysis and lead the effort
- Storyboard the findings in data and explain the Business value convincingly to customers
- Utilize analytical modeling using a variety of learning algorithms and ability to compare model outputs without Bias
- Demonstrate Business value of Analytical models and ensure they are deployed in Production
- Follow standards in machine learning and statistical analysis and coding practices to ensure consistency in quality across projects and teams
- Support the Client facing teams or management by producing quick-turnaround analysis, model development, and quality assurance for product development, consulting projects, and client presentations.
- Analyze the research papers related to the problem area and translate relevant ones to working prototypes in an agile manner
- Follow Good practices pertaining to version control systems.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other quantitative or computational field. Advanced degrees preferred
- Demonstrate proficiency with various approaches in statistical analysis, data preprocessing & feature engineering.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Insight generation from data
- Basic knowledge of Predictive Modelling
- Demonstrable strength in programming in Python or any other open source language.
- Experience with one or more data visualization tool / library such as Tableau, MATLAB, R Shiny, Seaborn etc.
- Good understanding of applied statistics, such as probability distributions, hypothesis testing and statistical inferences.
- Expertise in SQL programming languages and familiarity with Hive, Pig
- Excellent quantitative skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
GOOD TO HAVE:
- Masters in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other quantitative or computational field
- Ability to apply Deep learning and conversant with Deep learning libraries like Tensorflow
- Experience with large datasets and distributed computing (Hadoop, Spark) a plus
- Experience accessing data, map-reduce programming style and training models in Hadoop, Spark
- Nice to have knowledge of NoSQL DBs like MongoDB, Cassandra and HBase
- Contribution to research community reflected in publications in top conferences/Kaggle competitions
